Questions and Answers

Anyone know the destination?

Q) I left my job, my boss, my car and my home I'm leaving for a destination I still don't know somewhere nobody must have duties at home And if you like this, you can follow me So let's go Follow me And let's go To the place where we belong and leave our troubles at home Come with me We can go To a paradise of love and joy A destination unknown... Know where the destination is? I'd really like to go there! lol ;-)

A) Crazy Fool, it's Calabria (doh, check out the name of the song) "Destination Calabria" Course, if you really knew your dance music you'd know that the real destination is Eschaton, the Shamen said so back in the 90's :-)

Which is the best? Final Destination 1, 2 or 3?

Q) Which part do you like most of all? Final Destination 1 Final Destination 2 or Final Destination 3? I haven't seen Final Destination 3 yet. Would you advice me to watch it?

A) all of them becaust they all have a different story line and i am a firm believer in them

office of destination?

Q) Have I used the expression "office of destination" properly? or should I use "receiving office" or "acceptance office" I man in y sentence the office where the goods are received. The text is written by the customs office. My sentence is (it's my translation): We would be grateful if you could help to end the CTP (Common Transit Procedure), no. MRN7779789, dated 02.11.2003, connected with the goods for which you were the office of destination.Goods, the importer of which is a German company, x , were placed under the CTP on 02.11.2003 with the time limit set for ending it until yy do the sentences sound good in english or should I change anything? thanks a lot

A) Well it makes perfect sense to me....it is where the goods were destined for so Office of Destination seems most precise

Destination Prague or Krakow?

Q) Which one is the better destination for a few days holidays?

A) Last Easter I went on a tour that highlighted both Prauge and Krakow. Prague is huge and has some really great archetecture. Walking across Charles Bridge is neat (do it in the early morning before the rest of the tourists get up. By midday it's just a throng of people. The castle is great and there are some really neat oddities in Prague, like the John Lennon Wall, or the Museum of torture. Krakow is charming a very picturesk. I really liked the Wawel Castle and Mary's church. (Check out the alter carved by Viet Stwosz!) There is a really neat market place and the centre square is a relaxing place to eat a torte, drink tea and watch the people walk by. The touristy area is much more compact. From Krakow you can make a day trip to the salt mines or to Auschwitz. It's a tough choice between the two. Prague, though it had more to see, was overfilled with tourists, which can put me right off. I think I'd still reconmend it, though.

Destination wedding?

Q) We are planning for a destination wedding in the Caribbean (the Dominican Republic). We plan to get married here civilly first and then have our religious ceremony there. Is this normal? I was told the paperwork would go much faster if we did it this way. Advice, please! I picked the Dom. Rep. because I visit there quite a bit and am in love with the gorgeous island that it is! Crystal clear blue waters and gorgeous palm trees.

A) I think that is the best way to go. You will have to get your marriage license in advance anyway and at that point you will be married (legally) for all practical purposes. So, taking the extra step to have a quick civil ceremony is no big deal. Congratulations and good luck.

Honeymoon Destination?

Q) We are getting married in November 2009 and are planning to do so in Florida. Could anyone suggest an exotic destination for around 5 days thats not too far from Orlando as we will then be travelling back to the U.K and is also child friendly, as we will have a 2 year old with us. Thanks

A) Puerto Rico is nice- very lovely and tropical, with lovely beaches. If you want something child-friendly, you could take one of those Disney cruises that go from Orlando to Puerto Rico or some other island, and then back to Orlando for Disney World. Those are supposed to be fun for the kiddies. Congrats! ...if you'll have a 2-year old in Nov. 2009, does that mean he/she isn't born yet? If not, congrats on your pregnancy as well!!

Final Destination?

Q) I was watching final destination on dvd the other night and on the menue there were some games. I went inside and chose to play the death clock. I was asked around 6 or 7 questions and they calculated when i am going to die. It said i will die in the year 2029. I will only be in my thirties. Does any1 knw if it is true or not?

A) Of course not. And is it just me that wonders why, if it was the 'Final Destination', there's a Final Destination 2? :)

My partner has seen it somewhere and would love to go but we cant find more detail he thought it was mauritius

A) I think you are thinking of Bora Bora in Tahiti.

Final Destination?

Q) In the Final Destination series, why didnt "fate" strike them all down with a heart attack or similar. I know it wouldnt have made much of a movie... but be honest... Do you really think that they were good in the first place?

A) The angel of darkness is not kind at heart and was pissed off that the characters ruined its design, so it wanted to strike fear into the hearts and minds by killing them in torturous grusome ways ... just my thought on that but im not death so i wouldnt know

Final Destination 3 (mistake)?

Q) I was watching final destination 3 yesterday and it dawned on me that when the rollercoaster crashed (in the vision) it was from the video camera falling that is what make the chain of event happen. but then how could the rollercoaster of crashed if the man from the rollercoaster got off with the video camera. can you explain please.

A) I noticed this too and looked on a corrections website for movie mistakes. It says that Death intended the roller coaster to crash therefore it would have happened anyway. It also refers back to the flashback where it showed leaking fluid from the roller coaster. We only saw the crash in the premonition not for real and in this the leaking fluid caused the coaster to go out of control, presumably the brakes and it came off the tracks when it hit the video camera. I imagine that because it didn't hit the camera for real as the bloke had got off that it crashed somehow further along the tracks. It was meant to happen so it did, not in the same circumstances as the dream, but hey that's what the films all about, death catching up with all on the coaster! Hope that helps!

A) Italy. The art, the culture, the history. the food. I'm in love with pictures. If I had to pick a place today and depart tomorrow, that'd be it.

Destination Weddings?

Q) Ok, so now I'm thinking about doing a destination wedding. I think that would be much better for me. Have anyone done a destination wedding, where was it, and was it absolutely beautiful? Also, if you could do it over, will you still have a destination wedding or have a wedding back home?

A) I didn't do a destination wedding because I have a huge family and I am very close to my family. I thought really hard about it though because I think it would be fun! But I love my family and I wanted everybody there! So, we decided to do the huge wedding and all of that fun stressful stuff! I think it is really up to the couple. It would be really low attendence but if you are up to that then go for it. I couldn't do it but have fun!!

destination calabria?

Q) you know the song called destination calabria its got like trumpets blowing and stuff in it its a dance tune. well why is it called destination calabria if the words in the song go "destination unknown"?

A) It's a mashup of two songs: one is by Rune called 'Calabria' (the instrumental bit, with saxophone) and the other (for the vocals) is called "Destination Unknown" by Crystal Waters. Alex Gaudino remixed them both together, and so now his version is called Destination Calabria.

Pre-Destination or Free will?

Q) No offense here, honest curiosity. In your faith, do you believe everything is pre-destined to happen to you, such as who you marry, how many kids you have, even down to how and when you will die, and if so, does that mean you do not believe in free will? If you believe in free will, AND pre-destination, how do you reconcile the two? Pre-destination, for the sake of argument, you are stuck to follow a path, your choices are already determined, you make them, but you make them because you were supposed to. Enlighten me. (I believe free will, not pre-destination, so Im curious about others)

A) both! You are Pre-destination to use your free will - You are Pre-destination to go but you have the free will to choose.

Best Honeymoon destination?

Q) Well i have 11 months to find our perfect honeymoon destination and im still no closer, my partner is leaving it to me to create a shortlist so the pressure is on, so please feel free to add your perfect honeymoon destinations. You can also visit my blog and add your comments there. http://honeymoon-destinations.blogspot.com Thanks for your help Brett

A) You didn't say what your budget is but I suggest Curacao. My husband and I honeymooned there at an all-inclusive resort and it was wonderful. The weather is perfect at any time of the year and they are on the outskirts of the hurricane belt so that usually isn't a problem. The city of Willemstad is so beautiful and rich in culture. If we were able to, we'd go back again and again and again.

Receptions following Destination Weddings?

Q) A few weeks ago, I posted a question about the number of guests invited to a destination wedding. Some of the people who responded said that they were going to have only a few guests at the wedding itself, but that they were going to have a large reception when they got home. Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought that one of the positive aspects of having a destination wedding was not having to spend a lot of money on dozens (or hundreds) of wedding guests at a reception. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought that biggest cost for a wedding is the reception. Maybe someone could enlighten me... Are the "receptions" for the guests who aren't invited to a destination wedding different from "traditional" wedding receptions? Do the bride and groom get dressed up in their wedding clothes again, or is it more of a casual cocktail or dinner party?

A) Typically all of the guests invited to the "reception" are also invited to the wedding, but a very small number will be able to attend. Then, once you return from your destination wedding with pictures and video in hand, you can have a much more casual cocktail/dinner party to celebrate with the family and friends who could not travel abroad with you. No, you would not get dressed up in the gown/tux again. Very nice suit, dressy gown.

Destination wedding with reception to follow upon return...?

Q) Is it okay for me to wear my wedding gown (it won't be super fancy, as we're getting married on the beach) at the "reception" when we get back? None of our family/friends will be attending our wedding and I want everyone to be able to see me in my wedding attire. Also, is it appropriate to have a more "formal" reception after a destination wedding? I would like to have, like, our "first dance" then...and perhaps show the video of our wedding ceremony. Any ideas or resources that I can utilize? Thanks! PS: We are having a destination wedding becuase our families are both divorced and remarried, some twice - so we don't want to involve our family in the ceremony so as to avoid hurting anyone's feelings. Do you agree that having a reception after our return will abate some of these emotions between divorced parents, etc.? For one, there will be no gifts whatsoever - we already live together and need nothing - we just want to be able to celebrate our union with everyone. Ya'll don't have to be quite so rude about it!

A) I think this could be a great idea. Since your actual ceremony is so small, the people at the reception will want to see something to make them feel better about the ceremony. Not inviting parents to their daughter's wedding could be a little harsh... but maybe it is necessary in this situation. The key to pulling this off is making it interesting. No one wants to see home video of the entire wedding ceremony, from start to finish. It might be worthwhile to get a videographer to do the wedding and edit a video (I assume there is a couple days between ceremony and reception). Something with good editing and some music could really set the tone. Then you could have your first dance, and from there it would feel like a normal reception. I think it is important to have the reception to "abate some of these emotions". With all the conflicting family, you'll have to be careful with things like seating, who dances with whom, and who will be giving a toast. Above all remember it is your (and your groom's) day, so be sure to enjoy it! Good luck. To answer the "tacky" remarks, maybe put something in the invitation telling people that gifts are not expected?

Destination weddings???

Q) My fiancé and I are planning a destination Wedding. Has anyone had or been to any great destination weddings? We would like to get married on a beach…preferably a private one. We would also like to find a hotel that will take care of all accommodations and can help with group rates on airfare and rooms. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

A) Hawaii is my choice - Maui. http://www.mauiweddingnetwork.com/Hotels.html

Destination wedding in Asia?

Q) My Bf and I want to have a destination wedding and would love to visit Asia. Where would be a great city to start looking into? I thought perhaps Hong Kong, but I would bet there are tons of great places I havn't even thought of yet. Any ideas? Experinces? Anyone have a destination wedding in Asia?

A) A lot of westerners get married in Bali, Indonesia. One such famous couple was Mick Jagger and Jerry rice. A wedding over the sun setting on the horizon, world-class spa and resort and restaurants. Lots of my friends got married in Bali and live to tell about it.
